| 49353 | 2002-05-18 01:13:00 | My external USROBOTICS Sportster voice 33.6k faxmodem makes a terrible sound when dialing up to the internet, as modems do. really loud too. i know its not fixable, ive turned it off before, but i reformatted yesterday and dont know how to turn it off. yes, i have turned it 'off' under control panel>modems>properties (there is a dragger for the volume) but it dosnt make a difference a friend of mine told me he had same problem but unticked a box somewhere he cant remember... any help (its really loud!) |

Now your modem dialup sound will be muted. Regards - Ivan |

To set this go to Control panel, click on modems, press the properties button, go to the connection tab and press the advanced button. In the extra settings box type ATM0 (zero). Next time you dial up the modem should be as quiet as a mouse. |
