49682 2002-05-20 02:46:00 I was cleaning out old files that were not needed. I accidently removed Sound max integrated digital audio file.
I now have no sound. When trouble shooting help says that everything is working fine. Any ideas.

49683 2002-05-20 03:12:00 without knowing what type of PC, what operating system etc its hard to be of specific help, but compaq have drivers for soundMax available for their PCs for download.

Do a Google search on: soundmax integrated audio driver and you should have success.

49684 2002-05-20 03:13:00 Try reinstalling any software/drivers that you have for you sound card.

You may need to go to add New Hardware, Have Disk etc..

Hope this Helps

49685 2002-05-20 03:21:00 Ron. Try this if you have Win9x.

Start the system in safe mode (press F8 before Windows loads).

Then, Start/Settings/Control Panel/System/Device Manager.

Select Device Manager and delete the Sound entry.

Reboot the system and Windows will identify and load the necessary sound drivers as it boots up. If you have special drivers, load them when prompted instead.

This should get you sound back.

Bryan.
