50308 2002-05-23 04:37:00 I was wondering if there would be any dramatic performance problems if i was to host a website (with shop cart facility) on my own pc using jetstream and domain name? I would be using windows 2000 professional.

Would the site load times be slower than using an isp?

I dont even know if this idea would work, but am curious to find out.

Thanks for any replies.

50309 2002-05-23 06:20:00 Hi Bob, the speed would be good provided that you didn't have heaps of people visiting the site at once.

Also check out the terms and conditions of your jetstream account. It may be against the regulations. Unless you pay extra for a static IP.

50310 2002-05-23 07:40:00 Try to avoid IIS as the web server. The best alternative is Apache/PHP (There are windows version for both). But if you must use IIS, make sure you have _ALL_ the patches. Guest (0)
