| 50279 | 2002-05-23 01:39:00 | I am currently running XP Pro and Win2K Pro as I want to make sure of a smooth transition before I axe 2K completely. My problem is that under XP I am unable to access some folders on a Primary partition. Can I change the permissions in Win2K to allow myself access to the folders in WinXP? My partition table is set up with 2 x 3GB each containing Win2K and WinXP. On a third partition (14GB) I have my files and documents etc. All the folders on this last drive are marked read-only and some I cannot access at all as mentioned above. Hope someone can help me out. Matt |

Seems quite like your set up. What I did to retain access to the data partition was (in NT) to share it, full access. Then from Win2000 and XP both I set up local users with admin rights to the data partition. Then I removed the share. My local users in both win2000 and XP have full access to the data partition, as do the NT users. |
