50276 2002-05-23 00:51:00 I'm running IE5 on Win98SE.

My problem is that I cannot permanently change/set the default homepage on IE5. Every time I reboot the PC, IE defaults to some Canadian ISP's homepage.

I have been into Internet Options in the tools menu but any changes I make there only last until I boot the PC up again. I have cleaned out the cache and cookies folders all to no avail.

Somewhere in my system is a wee bit of code that is writing to my IE default settings when I boot up or when I start IE for the first time.

Anyone know where I should look?

50277 2002-05-23 01:24:00 This page has some handy tips which worked for me!

www.fjsmjs.com

Also note the bit about the proggy you may have running which is doing the changing for you...a bit hit and miss but if the regedit does not work you may have to use msconfig to try and find the offending wee fella.

Good luck,
Matt
