| 50189 | 2002-05-22 19:16:00 | My computer speed now seems to be slower. It takes a bit longer to load programs etc. Why is this? As well when i checked the comp speed it was 999Mhz it was 1000Mhz when i brought it. |

| 50190 | 2002-05-22 20:32:00 | Hi John, Do you do regular maintenance such as cleaning out Temp files etc and doing defrags? I use a program called Ontrack System Suite to help with my tuning. You can use Norton Systemworks too. Try going to PCPitstop.com to do an on-line scan. |

Many programs set it up so that they have part of the program start up at startup, if you have lots of programs load up or running in the background this will slow your machine down. You can prevent some unimportant ones from loading, by going to run; msconfig; startup :) |
