In the middle of a defrag,everything froze,no KB or mouse action,no ctr-alt-del.After a shutdown by doing a reset,it takes ages to try to boot with the following messages. KeyB detected Mouse detected Fixed disk Cd rom 3 beeps then FDC Failure Press F1 to continue After pressing F1, the setup screen appears at page 1 but with no KB or mouse to control anything it is not much use. Thanks for any info. |

| 50682 | 2002-05-25 11:22:00 | 3 beeps is usually the memory has packed a sad - try with known good memory. FDC failure - either the floppy drive has died, the cable is loose, or the I/O card/circuitry has died or all three. Check the floppy cable is seated, or try a known good floppy cable, or a replacement floppy drive or a replace I/O card. |
