| 50655 | 2002-05-25 04:34:00 | Here's a frustrating problem I've been having lately. Whenever I'm surfing the internet and I click a hyperlink that opens a new browser window, Internet Explorer stops responding. I have no idea what to do to solve the problem and all I know is it was working perfectly one day and when I came online the next day it wasn't working anymore. Anybody got any ideas? |

I'll offer a few things to try, but I can't guarantee anything. 1/ Try disabling your firewall, and see if that makes a difference. Especially if you're using ZoneAlarm, as this is one buggy firewall program. Also, make sure you're only running one firewall (some people leave the Windows XP built in firewall running, even after they've installed another, and this can cause problems). 2/ Check how many other programs are running - even in the background. Open the task manager by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete and tell us what else is running - perhaps there is something else running that could be causing problems. HTH Mike. |
