50645 2002-05-25 02:12:00 When I send attachments (pdf and zip so fat) the other peron gets them as winmail.dat and cant open them. How can i make Microsoft Outlook send them without changing it to winmail.dat?? Guest (0)
50646 2002-05-25 04:15:00 Hmm...I am keen to see what the general response is to this question.

I used to have that problem with Outlook 97 (in fact, it got to the stage where all e-mails included an attachment of something.dat proportions).

In the end I had to use Outlook Express and when I upgraded to Outlook 2000 and Outlook XP the problem seemed to have disappeared.

I'm not sure what I did to fix it...perhaps a reinstall might work even.

Still...I'll wait to see what someone who knows has to say :)

50647 2002-05-25 06:52:00 Hi Joe, have a look at Q196784 and Q197064 on the MS knowledge base for the reason this happens and how to stop it.

50649 2002-05-28 05:35:00 Ok Thanks. I have fixed it!
You just have to change your message format so it sends it in plain text, not anything else.
Go to the microsoft site for more details for anyone who wants it.

Thanks guys.
