| 50895 | 2002-05-26 09:53:00 | My ps2 mouse just won't work anymore!!! For the past 3 weeks my, ocassionally my mouse would not move when I boot into Win XP, however I was able to get it working again by shutting down turning off the power and restart the comp again. The success of this method varies, sometimes it works with 1 go, sometimes more. However, today I spent like an hour on it, and it still wouldn't work. And the tricky part is that I know is not the mouse's problem, in fact the mouse is perfectly fine!, so I am guessing it's my mobo's PS/2 port problem, or a software conflict. But if it is a conflict, how come I was able to get it working just by restarting before today?? So, my question is, is my mobo screwed or can I just format and reinstall window and make the ps/2 mouse work again?? |

Check the mouse pins where it connects to the computer - make sure there are none bent over as this could cause a short which will take out the PS2 port. Check another known good mouse on your computer and check your mouse on another computer - how do they each fareZ? |
