1301974 2012-09-18 07:53:00 Lately I have seen my Chrome Web Browser slowing down , most of the time . I have noticed some websites takes a while to load ,while others are okay (normal) . Im really not sure iif internet traffic is the cause , or a chrome bug problem ,etc . I have unistalled an extension , and now i only have 1 extension which is the WOT , web safety rating . I have used chrome at school , noticed speeds are good . It is just at home in my laptop that it is causing this .

Further I would say Internet Explorer is also looking to have similar problem .I have also reset Internet Explorer but no changes .

Here is the current speed which I just did found -

Download Speed - 9.63 Mbps

Upload Speed - 0.85 Mbps

Lastly have done malware checks in the past , none detected , but right now scans are happening with an Avast and EST NOD32 , will report results back ?

Any suggestions

1301975 2012-09-18 08:16:00 Done the usual? ccleaner, av, malwarebytes?
Why have you got two avs running?
Those speeds are not really much to complain about really, compared to what some people are getting.

1301977 2012-09-18 08:37:00 You should only run one AV program! CliveM (6007)
1301978 2012-09-18 08:59:00 yeah, having 2 av programs will cause conflicts and slow your system down

get rid of one of them

1301979 2012-09-18 09:20:00 Preferably get rid of Avast. stratex5 (16685)
1301980 2012-09-18 10:29:00 Only one AV program - two will decrease the efficiency of the other. If you have NOD32 stop mucking about with Avast. Nick G (16709)
1301981 2012-09-18 20:28:00 oh ok , but looking at nod32 ,why are scans so slow,it is taking like more than 1 hour and about 30% is complete. thanks Nhashon (16466)

Stop it. Uninstall Avast. Then run NOD again. As already pointed out two AV programs will fight each other and that will be slowing down your scan as well as the whole system.

Possible as Avast is running, possibly not.
But, I'd rather have a av that scans slowly and detects viruses than one that scans quickly and misses viruses.
