1301898 2012-09-18 03:17:00 Sorry I assumed it would be there, I don't have OE to look at. Does it perhaps share settings with IE ? dugimodo (138)
1301899 2012-09-18 03:19:00 Here's an old post from PcWorld called "Add a Spell-Checker to Outlook Express"

www.pcworld.com

Otherwise the spelling setting varies depending on the Outlook version

Try menu option "Tools..." "Options ... "

Tab "Spelling"

"Spelling and AutoCorrection..." button

"Popular" tab

"Language Settings..." button

1301901 2012-09-18 04:26:00 I may be off beam here, but isn't OE part of the Microsoft Office suite of programmes, and doesn't it use the same dictionary that you choose in Word?

I am using WinXP SP3, and use Outlook as part of Office 2007, and it all works like that with this combination. I set up NZ in the Control Panel > Regional and Language Options, and choose English (New Zealand) as my dictionary in Word. In Outlook you can choose Options, and one of the menus is for Spellchecking - just choose the dictionary you want there. I cannot remember the last time I used OE, but I would have thought it would have been similar?

1301902 2012-09-18 05:00:00 John H: appreciate your input but no OE is not part of the Office Suite; although it is part of Windows XP.
So far the only answer I have been able to find has been to use a 3rd part spell checker.

1301903 2012-09-18 05:08:00 Ah, I remembered it was part of something, but the wrong thing. Apologies. However, I am sure I had a spell checker that was part of OE back in the day. Hmmmm, thinks... John H (8)
