| 1301562 | 2012-09-17 08:35:00 | Hey there, just bought a new comp and installed windows 8. However a few mins into running it, an error popped up. Its not exactly this error, but looks similar. The error being related to 'memory management' www.eightforums.com So i decided to run a memory test. And this was the result. i50.tinypic.com However i ran it again, this time no errors. I ran the original memtest86 and no errors. I also ran the windows memory test with no errors. So what i'm wondering now is what were those first errors? Is my ram actually faulty? Thanks Forgot to add specs i5 3570k stock 2x 4gb corsair vengeance ddr3 1600 ram Asus P8Z77-V Asus GTX660ti Intel 330 180gb ssd Corsair H60 |

| 1301564 | 2012-09-17 08:48:00 | Might need a BIOS update if BIOS 1406 / 1504 isnt on it. Since that says P8Z77-V BIOS 1406 1.Improve compatibility with Windows 8 OS. 2.Improve system stability. 3.Enhance compatibility with some USB devices. 4. Fixed Nvidia GTX 680 hang when runing with UEFI driver. And 1504 1.Improve compatibility with Windows 8 OS. 2.Improve system stability. 3.Improve memory compatibility. 1606 is the latest BIOS |

| 1301568 | 2012-09-17 22:18:00 | What else have you installed (since installing Win8)? What programs? Is this the RTM of Win8? Have you tried removing the ram, and putting the sticks in one by one, to see if one of the sticks are faulty? Or the slot is stuffed or something? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
| 1301569 | 2012-09-17 22:38:00 | I've only install ASUS wifi go, core temp, antivirus, razer synapse and firefox and all the drivers from the asus site. Its the MSDNAA release of windows 8 so i think its the full one. Nope havent tried that because i wasnt really sure if the ram was actually faulty or not? As each subsequent test on memtest/windows memory test was a pass? Thanks |
