1301554 2012-09-17 08:14:00 but I need some help !

I have a Windows 7 computer running Ultimate. The computer is connected to a telescope which will be used to image
the night sky (when it is clear :-) ), however the registry has some incorrect details in it which must be replaced with
the correct info. These incorrect details came about when I installed the program from a CD. Reinstalling the CD won't
work.

There are many instances where the key must be changed, but I can cope with that.

Not sure if I should call it " a key" but the keys name will read "Trust Webcam 14823" and this needs to be changed to
"Meade LPI". The quotation marks are not part of the key.

I'm sort of hoping it will be something simple like "Find and Replace", which I could do over and over till the job is finished.
But I anticipate it won't be quite as simple as that.

1301555 2012-09-17 08:22:00 Well theres no find and replace, just find Trust Webcam 14823. Then F3 till you replace the entries with Meade LPI Speedy Gonzales (78)

Make sure you backup the registry, or establish a clear Restore Point before you mess with the Registry.
This is almost sure to end in tears otherwise.

1301558 2012-09-17 19:47:00 It's not tthat bad. So long as you don't delete anything else - just stuff that specifically refers to this program. pctek (84)
1301559 2012-09-17 22:36:00 As well as setting up a system restore point use this to backup the Registry:

www.tweaking.com

Try this instead of the crappy MS reg edit:

www.dcsoft.com

RxCrawler included in download is very fast.

Oh, despite my inexperience with the registry, I have got all bases covered. I hope :-)

The Ultimate installation is now only 3 days old, other than the telescope program and the addition of MSE. I have no personal data
on the computer and have even resisted Microsoft trying to install countless files upgrades/patches etc. If it all turns to a pile of
crap, then I just start all over again, re install Windows Ultimate and try again.

I have nothing to loose but some time. But I'm quite looking forward to doing this, starting tonight. I'm told there will be around
a hundred + entries to change. That does not sound like fun but, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

1301561 2012-09-18 01:19:00 Could not wait till tonight! Done and dusted, absolutley simple as. Took just under
