| 1301870 | 2012-09-29 07:12:00 | Damn I spoke too soon. When I look in My Computer to find the new drive C, I see that is still shown as the 40 GB drive. Yet when I plug in the NexStar it also shows as a 40GB drive, E. The laptop doesnt see the new drive as 160GB. Why? PJ |

| 1301871 | 2012-09-29 07:27:00 | A bit more. I looked in Disc Management & it appears that I have cloned the same size drive, 40GB. There is 91GB unallocatd. I would like to move or lose that second partition. Can I do that? PJ | Poppa John (284) | ||

I would like to move or lose that second partition. Can I do that? PJ Sure, right click on the unallocated space, and the should be an option to create partition. Create a partition with the whole 91 gb, and then merge that partition with the 40gb partitions (right click on one of the partitions, -> merge partition). You might need something like AOMEI partition manager (don't worry, its free) to merge the two as the built in windows disk management can be a bit fickle about what partitions it will merge. AOMEI has never failed to merge partitions for me yet though. |

PJ So you got a new 91gb partition created but couldn't merge it? Haven't used the MS system one a lot, but maybe it won't show the merge option if it won't allow you to merge it? I'd get Aomei partition manager from here (www.extend-partition.com) and use it to merge the two partitions. |
