1277267 2012-05-27 23:21:00 Spaceballs, still the best spoof movie ever! Ludicrous speed Ha ha
I didnt enjoy battle los angels at all, the action was ridiculously fast and my eyes had trouble keeping up with it.
Tron, another one of worthy mention :thumbs:
Armageddon, nothing like Bruce Willis and landing on an asteroid...It is actually a good comedy/action

Also the original Stargate movie?? Maybe not top 10 but worth a mention.

1277269 2012-05-27 23:48:00 "Star Wars" isn't a film.

Yes, it is. Just because it has retroactively been re-titled Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, it can still be correctly referenced simply as "Star Wars" as that was it's name at the time of it's initial theatrical release. It wasn't officially re-titled until after the release of Empire.

1277271 2012-05-28 00:29:00 Just a comment regarding Riddick.
I put Pitch black on my top 10 list but chronicles of Riddick would be lucky to make my top 20.
In my opinion Pitch black is a much better movie and chronicles is just ok.

It's odd to me how some sci-fi starts out with horror or thriller type themes and then the sequels change the feel to a much more action/ sci-fi feel.
But maybe it's not that common I can't think of many examples;
I'd call Alien a horror (and a personal favourite) and Aliens and other sequels action movies
similarly I'd call Pitch black a thriller or maybe a horror, but chronicles of Riddick an action movie

1277272 2012-05-28 06:47:00 I forgot about spaceballs - that is one of the funniest movies I have ever watched.

I would just like to point out again that Dune was very B grade - compare it to Star Wars Episode 4 & you will see that it is not just age doing it a disservice.

1277274 2012-05-30 02:59:00 :This a true account. I arranged to have a vasectomy about lunchtime, a few years back, and decided to take it easy by watching a video while re-cuperating on the settee.
The film was Blade Runner, Director's Cut.
Somehow, this symbolism entirely by-passed me until last week. The mind works in mysterious ways, eh??
