1301616 2012-09-17 21:25:00 I dont know why people are suggesting boot camp or WINE....I have installed 7 on Fusion & Parallels before and it works great, you can even have the windows apps access via the mac desktop so it doesnt even look like windows 7 is running.....
The staff can have their Mac, and windows 7 in the background with the special software running....!

Besides which, Fusion is already paid for and installed....

And yes, every Windows 7 install needs a valid licence period.

1301617 2012-09-17 21:46:00 I am suggesting WINE simply as a way for them to reduce costs, however if money not
a consideration then obviously Win7 is the way to go.
(I have yet to meet a boss who doesn't think money is a consideration, however one may exist) :p

1301618 2012-09-18 10:54:00 Thanks all.

I think I will try an install of Win 7 Home Premium 64bit OEM first and see how that goes.

I have a disc here so will install without the key to start with and see if the trial fires up then can activate later if it's all good.

Learning about these blasted Mac things slowly. Still won't be recommending them!

The only concern I would have with VMware or any other program which effectively emulates a windows enviroment is performance issues, but if the program is a basic windows forms application you should be just fine.

1301620 2012-09-20 02:20:00 Instead of installing Windows7 under VMWare Fusion, you can ditch both and use a commercial implementation of WINE such as the Crossover for Mac from Codeweavers (www.codeweavers.com). You can get a trial version and see if your application works and if it works buy the license for US$60 which would be lot cheaper than buying Windows7 license tmrafi (5179)
1301621 2012-09-20 03:59:00 OEM version should work, but I doubt it will be licensed to run under a VM. Alex B (15479)
