| 1300877 | 2012-09-14 07:30:00 | It's surprising how many CPU resources are dedicated to tracking the mouse! I can put my CPU from idle to 20% or higher use just by running the mouse around the screen. If your system is struggling, then the mouse movement and / or music and / or video playback may be all it takes to bring it to its knees. Your Chrome situation is disturbing. I'd uninstall all 'toolbars' that may be related to Chrome, then uninstall Chrome, then check there are no more Chrome processes running in Task Manager, and kill them too if they still exist. Do a restart and see how things go. If you specifically want Chrome, then try a fresh install of it. I've never used Chrome, but if it makes use of Adobe Flash, then I'd cast some suspicion over Flash as well, coz it's been filthy for months. |
