1276463 2012-05-21 01:09:00 I went for a job here which I didn't get and my role would have been going round doing the checking after each job. The owner of the firm told me that they have to now as they get independently assessed and if anything is wrong they could loose their accreditation and all those contracts with it gary67 (56)
1276464 2012-05-21 01:58:00 Also there is silver paper under the floor which I'm fairly certain counts as sufficient insulation to disqualify me for the subsidy.

Nah we had that under our floor too. Got rid of it, and it made a nice difference having *real* underfloor insulation.

1276466 2012-05-21 03:12:00 Concrete floors have their own issues, there are good reasons older houses were up off the ground with air allowed to circulate underneath. And it makes any future renovations much easier if you can get at the plumbing under the floor. dugimodo (138)
1276467 2012-05-21 07:20:00 Houses up in the air give you a much better view of the floodwaters, although some of the concrete ones give a truly immersive experience. R2x1 (4628)

1276469 2012-05-21 07:44:00 No Green Stuff on the quote? Chilling_Silence (9)
1276470 2012-05-21 08:44:00 Yup, KIWeco uses GreenStuf. Anything special about GreenStuf? wallarro (11242)
1276471 2012-05-21 09:10:00 Is that horrible spray on insulation still being used? My sister has that in her house - it doesn't work very well & it is a pain in the ass if you need to do anything in the ceiling., Luckily my house has pink batts :) Greven (91)
1276472 2012-05-21 09:32:00 I have 5 quotes from insulation companies ranges from mid 2000 to high 5000. I obviously want to go with the least expensive one but wondering if this is a case you get what you paid for? ie the more expensive, the better the insulation coverage are?

Wallarro - the quotes you posted are $3.4k - 5.5k, which is a lot closer than what your original post said. Why is that?
