Yellow Pages have said that they will provide a free of charge magnifying glass to
each person that contacts them.

If you feel that the size of the font/new print is more difficult to read – you
SHOULD ring and ask for your’s.

Pass this number on to as many people as you can.

Also - if you say you need two - one for work as well one for home - they will supply. They somewhat patronisingly said they had only had to supply 200 magnifying glasses for the whole country last time!

1276729 2012-05-22 08:36:00 They still print phone books? inphinity (7274)
1276730 2012-05-22 08:46:00 Font sizes reduce in inverse proportion to the reader's age. Haven't you learned that yet? Richard (739)
1276731 2012-05-22 08:49:00 Like most people nowadays I never use paper telephone directories. They go straight into the recycling bin on delivery. It is far quicker to use a computer and more up to date. CliveM (6007)
1276732 2012-05-22 09:35:00 We didn't get any directories this year. Best year yet since Telecom sold the service to Yellow. That was followed by Yellow regularly proving that Telecom weren't so bad after all, and that ain't easy. ;) R2x1 (4628)

True - for me & you - BUT there are a large number of older people out there who don't have a computer.... I would call the size of the font - ageist.

1276734 2012-05-22 10:04:00 Just as well that I went to Spec Savers for a pair of bifocal lens. Never mind though I do find it easier to look up a phone number on the computer. Bobh (5192)
1276735 2012-05-22 10:04:00 The White Pages online ain't all that. Just searched for number and it said: Sorry, no results were found. Ah, yes they do live here and yes their number is in the latest phonebook (and yes, I spelt it correctly!). Had this happen before, you check a few days later and the number magically reappears. Just had the same problem so thought I would just use the surname without christian name or initials and up came the phone number. Maybe they should use Google search.

1276737 2012-05-22 12:00:00 I prefer to use the book most of the time. Also, previous years can be useful for reference... Agent_24 (57)
