| 51243 | 2002-05-28 06:10:00 | For no apparent reason sometimes when I start me computer up it opens up scan disk even though I shute down fine! After it has done the initial scan it starts scanning each cluster that takes about 1 and 1/2 hours. This yhappens all in DOS. If anyone could help it would be realy great! Thanks |

| 51244 | 2002-05-29 01:55:00 | Matthew, What OS are you using and system specks? I used to have a similar problem (VERY intermittently) with Windows 98. I'm not sure what caused it, but I always put it down to the fact that perhaps whilst it 'seemed' to shut down properly perhaps it hadn't. As yet I still haven't found a solution to the problem, but having upgraded to XP, it doesn't worry my that much anymore. I'd suggest checking for any updates and patches on the MS Web site...that might help - perhaps there was one of the solutions in a patch :) HTH Callum |
