| 51215 | 2002-05-28 03:45:00 | Lubberly People I have just upgraded my pc with new mother****** board, hdd, ram etc. now when I shut down [Im running 98SE by the way]. I get the splash screen 'Windows 98 shutting down' then the wee led on the floppy drive comes on and there we stay. I have to just turn off then, no 'It is safe to shut off' splash just wee red led on. Whaaa??? Can yer help me Hugh |

| 51217 | 2002-05-28 05:18:00 | Is your windows updated as stated above? (in IE tools> windows update) But I think it might be your power settings, either in windows of BIOS. Is your m/b and case ATX? In BIOS enable Advanced power management options. In windows right click on desktop, properties, at the bottom of screen saver options are power setting options have a look and check to see whether Advanced power management (ACPI or something) is enabled. |
