The idea is to code up a robot that goes around an (onscreen) arena and tries to detect and destroy other robots. I had a crack at it the other day, and although i'm sort of familiar with the java language, i thought it was pretty choice. The simple bot i coded was good enough to waste an advanced bot i downloaded from the above website! I've always thought its easier to learn how to code if you have some sort of project to work towards, and this is a pretty fun project. If you're reading this robo, I reckon it might make a good addition to the pc-world cd? I'd like to hear what other people reckon of this way to learn java. Cheers, markOS X. |
