| 51104 | 2002-05-27 10:06:00 | Every month at work I backup our data files by burning them onto a CD. Over time the files have got bigger requiring several CD's to fit them all. One file in particular is very large and now is around 700Mb in size and won't fit on a CD. Is there a way to save one very large single file over 2 (or more) CD's? Thanks for any suggestions. |

For now maybe you will gain enough even if you only compress that one large file. There are also several other utilities that are allowing you to split big files in smaller chunks (without compressing them first) and than assemble them again when needed. Search for them in www.dowload.com or www.tucows.com one of them is Delphino File Splitter 1.2 Hope this will help. |

I was also under the impression that some burning software allowed you to span over several CDs. Have only just started using CDRW myself but, am sure I saw that option in one of the apps I have.
