| 51118 | 2002-05-27 11:38:00 | I have Win ME, it keeps crashing (I know, but it came with the computer) and almost every time it comes up with 'such and such a programme has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL' Is there a fix for this? Is there a more recent file version that I could download from somewhere maybe. |

I think perhaps something (probably the OS) has not been installed correctly, and might need a reformat/reinstall to fix your problem if its recurring with different programs frequently. If its only one program that does it, it could be the program that needs reinstalling. Mike. |

I believe and will maintain the belief that ME should NEVER have been released at all when MS realised what a pile of crap they had spawned. I also believe it is gods wish we expunge all copies from the face of the planet. |

| 51125 | 2002-05-28 01:56:00 | On the M$ topic. Did anyone watch the hacking bulletin on BBC World at about 2am this morning? Had a few M$ employees spinning yarns about all the testing they do to make their prducts secure, and that they 'once' made a secure OS that met the US blah blah balh A1 standards for security, but no-one wanted it because it was to user-unfriendly. 1) does that mean that they purposely make their products insecure in exchange for user friendliness? 2) Does that mean that M$ products are user firendly??? Not by my experience! 3) They are blaming the internet for their security holes saying that if the internet had not sprung up, there would be no probs - duh! 4) They say that the reason win 95, 98 are so insecure is that they were designed to be 1 user machines, and not be connected to a netork or the internet. that connectivity was a necessary add-on to appease customer demands!
