| 51433 | 2002-05-29 09:37:00 | I have 128mb ram PIII 800 Win 98SE When ever i dl i run Resource meter because my computers recently lost the ability to get rid of the info after it isnt needed, so i can dl 100 mbs or so before itll freeze, does anyone know how to emtpy them? also i post a few weeks ago about how my sound icon in the taskbars gone, the option to have it there is greyed out so i cant check/uncheak it, dxdiag says nothing is wrong thanks for any help! |

| 51435 | 2002-05-29 11:00:00 | The freezing may be caused by spyware, running adaware (www.lavasoft.de) on your system will remove it. As for your resources, they aren't what they sound like, they are a left over from windows 3.0. Have a look here for more info: www.windows-help.net The only real fix is to avoid programmes that leak them and/or ditch windows 9x. Failing that reboot. |

| 51436 | 2002-05-29 11:12:00 | Daniel, I'm not sure if this will help, but to clear anything in your RAM (and free up memory) there is a programme called 'RAMpage'. This programme displays the amount of free memory available and runs in the system tray. It's quite useable really and by double clicking on it (in the system tray) it frees up memore to a predetermined amount. I'm not sure where to download this programme from as it was e-mailed to me by a friend, but I guess if you go to www.cnet.com or to www.download.com (which I think is part of zdnet you could run a search for it.
