| 51427 | 2002-06-01 02:44:00 | Hello Jeremy, if u know anything about LAN, network cards, protocols then i wont be explaining the basics...buy a Hub or Switch or if u can shell out big bucks buy a router...but i prefer the 'Switch' as switch is more intelligent than Hub, as switch records or logs in its memory, which computer is always talking or connecting to which computer. Now in ur XP Pro computer..if it does have..u have to make some usernames in it who has or who doesnt have 'access' to the internet or to this XP Pro computer u have...i dont have XP Pro...so im not sure if u have to make the usernames or not, or if its gonna be done automatically...i use win98se, win2kpro and win2k server. Now the XP Pro computer will be the gateway and if XP Pro has 'ICS' (internet connection sharing) u have to make the disk for it. If u need to get in touch with me email me...jimerene@yahoo.com Jim |
