Author: Douglas Swanson[Symantec] Date: 08:42 AM, May 28 PDT Subject: Re: live update Hi B McCardy, Welcome to Symantec's online technical support. >When I do an update for virus definitions etc, everything downloads >but LIVE UPDATE fails to install. System scans indicate no virus in >the system. >Inquiries indicate that this is a common problem. >I am running NAV 2002 and Norton utilities 2002 >Thank you When it is run, Lusetup.exe checks the version of the file Luinsdll.dll to determine whether the current version of LiveUpdate is installed. When the information in the Luinsdll.dll file is not accessible to LiveUpdate, it may fail to update LiveUpdate. To work around this problem, delete the Luinsdll.dll file and then download and install the Lusetup.exe file. I have included a link to a Knowledge Base article that contains the instructions to help resolve this issue. Delete the Luinsdll.dll file. 1. Right click on My Computer and choose the Explore option from the menu. 2. Navigate to the following folder: C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate 3. In the right pane, locate the Luinsdll.dll file. 4. Right click on the file and choose Delete from the menu. 5. Click Yes to confirm the deletion of the file. Download and Install Lusetup.exe Title: 'How to update your Symantec subscription software' Document ID: 2002041113495313 > Web URL: service1.symantec.com If we can be of further assistance with LiveUpdate, please let us know.
