51479 2002-05-29 15:34:00 is there a utility to run to get the model number of a PC Chips Motherboard? I can't see any markings on the M/B that identify it. I ran an AMIBios utility which identified the M/B asa PC Chip one Guest (0)
51480 2002-05-29 21:28:00 I'm not aware of a utility - that will id the mobo, I don't think the board name is set in the bios, on these boards. If it is a socket 370 mobo it may a variant of the M754 - there were a lot of these sold. Try going to the PC chips site and matching pics! (There are versions of the 754 that have or don't have an ISA slot - so you may not get an 'exact' match). Guest (0)

51482 2002-05-30 03:46:00 Can you find the FCC code? If you can then you can look this up and it'll identify the board.

If you look on your board at the chips on it and the socket used you should search for these as it'll most likely return results of what could be your board.

51483 2002-05-30 10:46:00 Hi Rob

Try SiSoft Sandra. It will display your motherboard name and revision, bios info, etc.

a snippet from mine:

Manufacturer: Soltek
Model: REV Q8.1
Serial Number: 06/21/2001-8363/A-686B-6A6LMSN9C-00
Chipset: VIA KT133 Chipset

Go to:

www.sisoftware.co.uk

to get it.

51484 2002-05-30 11:19:00 Here is some info I have gleaned previously (but not tried) from this forum -

A prog that will give full specs on your MB plus heaps of other specs is SiSoftware's Sandra 2002 (www.3bsoftware.com/sandra). This requires snmpapi.dll in the Win folder - it should be installed during Win setup.
For a list of free utilities which will help with motherboard identification go to -
www.google.com
