| 51441 | 2002-05-29 10:12:00 | I have recently installed JetStart - via a Nokia M1122 to my Dell 333mhz celeron notebook. The increase in speed over my old dialup is amazing. I installed Zone Alarm and everything still went fine. I decided that I should have some anitivirus software (not that I get any - I don't share disks and I use Compuserve for my email - so the stuff written for outlook express passes me by). I downloaded a trial version of Norton AntiVirus 2002 and found that virtually everything on my computer seems to go slower including even opening documents in MS Word. Is there any antivirus software that won't clag up my machine and slow it down? |

I'm not familar norton, but there will be a setting somewhere to disable it. It will be called a resident sheild or similar. BTW, AVG is free and works well enough, you can get it at www.grisoft.com. |

Dont turn anything off with any anti virus or you will regret it.Try the free ones but remember `there is no such thing as a free lunch` if you see what I mean. Best Regards Alan |
