51787 2002-05-31 11:22:00 The 'print screen' key does not appear to be recognized by my system. I presume it is something to do with the keyboard driver being set for a 101 key keyboard, not the 104 key keyboard - but where is an appropriate driver to be located?(System is windows 98se) Guest (0)
51788 2002-05-31 11:31:00 Press ALT- PrtSc to get a copy of your current selected window or desktop item item. This goes into the clipboard. You can then paste (CTRL-V) into Paint or any image editor and save the results as a picture.

Pressing PrtSc by itself does nothing (that I'm aware of). If I remember rightly, pressing Ctrl - PrtSc take a shot of your entire screen.

That help?

51789 2002-05-31 11:45:00 Print Screen will take a screen capture. Alt+PrintScreen will capture the active window.

But if it is not working at all it could be because of the keyboard settings not being set up properly.

51790 2002-05-31 12:03:00 If you go to control panel - keyboard - is it saying 101 or 104? Guest (0)
51791 2002-05-31 12:16:00 Hi Ian R,

I had to go to Properties in Keyboard on control panel and apply the 101 setting, then by Alt/Print screen, and pasting into 'Paint' gives you full screen, not just active page.
Hope this helps

Cheers,Kiwitas,;-)

51792 2002-05-31 12:31:00 Yes, 'print screen' and 'ALT print screen' do copy the screen/window to the clipboard. Thus the key is being recognized, even with the driver listed as 101 key.
Thanks Elwin, JM and Marty for the responses.
If there IS any way of making the 'print screen' key a hot key for direct screen printing, it would be good to know.
