| 51671 | 2002-05-30 23:12:00 | I had to reinstall Win 2000 Pro recently, and now whenever I boot up, I get a window titled '16 bit window subsytem', it says 'SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDri vers.VDD. Virtual Device Driver format in the registry is invalid. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application. It comes up twice each time I start up. How can I get rid of it/stop it happening? | Guest (0) | ||

Open regedit and go to Hkeylocalmachine\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\ VirtualDeviceDrivers.VDD. - look at what keys are in there. Back up the keys to file and delete them one by one until the message stops coming up. If the PC dies - just reinstall again to a seperate windows folder. |
