| 51741 | 2002-05-31 10:00:00 | My experience is the complete opposite of tweak'e, tried both Lite and Ieradicator and found them very good. Like all utilities that strip or adjust the Windows shell, you need to make sure you fully understand what you are trying to achieve BEFORE altering anything. Regards Alan |

| 51742 | 2002-05-31 10:45:00 | I tried Win98 Lite in the earlier days when Microsoft were swearing blind that IE was an integral part of Windows and that IE could not be separated from the OS. It was OK, if you didnt want some of the advantages of Win98, it really put one back almost to Win95 again. As IE overtook Netscape it didnt seem to make sense, so I gave up on Lite. Depends on how much you hate IE. It's interesting to play with. |

| 51743 | 2002-05-31 11:00:00 | Both have worked for me, but I prefer IEradicatior even though it removes less, because 98lite requires you to keep a modified copy of the windows CABs on your HDD taking up more space than IE etc (although they are more useful :-). Neither totally remove IE because they've 'integrated' it in a way that causes other stuff to break if you remove all of its files. Still, I freed up about 40mb of space with IEradicator. |

| 51745 | 2002-06-01 02:36:00 | Very good,wouldn't be without it.Makes win98 about 30% faster,no problems with anything missing,you can reinstall internet explorer or anything else, and still retain the much faster windows.Take all the cab files off after installing.I'd recommend using the chubby option,to still have the benefit of the win98 desktop,there isn't much improvement using the 95 shell, or even the professional version. | Guest (0) | ||
