| 51890 | 2002-06-01 06:20:00 | Does anyone have any comments about the most efficient way to connect to an Enterprise Exchange Server via Vodaphone GPRS. As GPRS charges for data rx & tx, minimising data flow is my objective. I can remote in to our Exchange Server via the Vodaphone GPRS gateway and then VPN OR via GPRS gateway and then the Web Browser interface provided by Exchange 5.5 Which is more efficient or is there a better way to minimise data flows as both the above methods seems to use thousands of bytes to receive/send emails which are only a few bytes in size!! Any thoughts - TIA Simon |

If you are worried that mail will be lost - keep a copy on the exchange server. Delete it when back at the office. If you want to see your calendar, then web access will be less intense because it has a few less features. If there are a few of you that require access then you could buy the small license version of Citrix and connect via ICA |

If I use a POP3 client such as Outlook Express or Pegasus, do you know whether I will be able to reply (eg send) via Vodaphone's GPRS gateway or will I get caught by Clear/Xtra restriction on sending mail via their smtp server if not logged in to them via them as ISP? Cheers |
