51875 2002-06-01 04:01:00 Can anybody tell me why I am getting this error. It first happened last week and I rang xtra who stepped me thru fixing it. It has happened again today and I can't bear the thought of sitting on the phone for another 15 minutes waiting for an Xtra Person!
I successfully connect to the Internet but when I open my Outlook Express I get a box popping up asking me for my password...which is in there and correct. This is the error message I get:
There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your User Name was rejected. Account: 'pop3.xtra.co.nz', Server: '127.0.0.1', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC91
Would really appreciate help here. Thanks.

51876 2002-06-01 05:00:00 Solved the problem myself folks..It is apparently my Nortons Anti Virus causing this to happen. Now at least know how to fix it myself if it happens again. No further help required on this one..thanks. Guest (0)
51877 2002-06-01 05:02:00 Have been having similar problems, (although I didn't record the error message). Is there a firewall on your computer? I suspect mine (ZA) may be interfering. I am experimenting with ZA and settings with OE, but I would be also keen to hear others responses.

51879 2002-06-01 05:11:00 Hi Sam,
You probably posted your comment about the same time I did!
This is what I did to fix it.
In Outlook Express > Tools > Accounts > Properties > Servers > Then where it says Incoming Mail (POP3) you type in the space pop3.xtra.co.nz
Then down next to Account Name you type in your UserName. EG bcoull@xtra.co.nz is typed in bcoull
Click OK and close. Go back to your email and click send/receive.
Hope this helps you too. :-)
