| 51838 | 2002-05-31 22:34:00 | Hi, and heartfelt thanks to those who helped succesfully to date-BUT after feeling smug, I, last night, did a 'thorough' scan to be followed by my weekly defrag. The defrag completed successfully so I went back to retry the thorough scan. After 10 restarts 'programmes still running' I find that I could not stop -permanently- rnaap - it would take'end task' then start again thereby stopping the scan. To cap it all off the original compaint that I asked for help on -was the notice came up in my start up 'cannot read the last cluster on C drive- it may have to have LBA enabled check your BIOS set up ability'(the LBA is enabled) The computer is as I said running well but for this - need I worry? Thank you Effie C |

| 51840 | 2002-06-01 04:59:00 | No Graham- or if I did, my age has caught up with me- I have run this in 'normal' mode and never had this - and a friend has even successfully run scan without disabling the programmes- What does astound me that rnaapp- after a search on google- is connected with the modem, and as such I would not have been using it ( time online/cost.etc, and of course it would not stay 'end task', but restarted of itself and therefore stopped the scan so that is of no help. O K I will try it in safe mode- I sure don't know much and am glad to learn- so thank you - will let you know, if you scroll down to me at a later day | Guest (0) | ||
