Whenever I attempt complete shutdown, W98 appears to close correctly but instead of shutting down, the machine then reboots.
How can I get it to switch off instead? |

No. I was not even aware that there were such things as shutdown patches. Can you advise where they are obtainable? I would sure like to try. |

just type in the advance search or search 'shutdown patch' , with no quotes of course. |
