| 51974 | 2002-06-01 11:36:00 | If I uninstall a Symantec product, and then later decide to reinstall it (this happens more often than you think for reasons I won't go into) I have to download all the updates an virus defs again. I have sussed the virus defs, and the live update updates, but can I manually download the other updates off the site. I refer specifically to the symantec redirector update, NAV 2002 update and Ghost 2002 update. I have looked in the updates section of the site, and updates for these products are not available. Only ones for previous versions of the product. Anyone know what I am missing. G P |

When the Norton software is installed, you get (usually) a year free subscription, and so these updates come automatically, but they don't make the software updates available for manual download, as its only available through subscription. Yeah, I know it'd be easier, but this way they don't have people updating all the time when they don't have a subscription. Mike. |
