| 51957 | 2002-06-01 11:25:00 | In Outlook (not express), when I open a new message and click the button buy the To: field to add a contact to send it to, I get a list. The list however only displays the name of the person, and not their email address. This poses a problem when sending to a person who has more than one email, and I want to send it to a particular account. I have set the display attribute in the contact properties to show the email address, but this does not fix the problem. The only way to be sure is to open the contacts first and then send the message to the specific contact, but this doesn't work if I want to CC the message to others with the same prob. The only solution at the moment is to select all the entries until the one I want appears in the to field (The address is displayed here). Any solutions? Please don;t tell me to use a different email client. And yes, i know PMAIL v4 is on this months PCW cover disc. G P |

| 51959 | 2002-06-01 12:31:00 | That would work, but be very annoying. At the moment, each contact has ONE heading/entry, and several addresses assigned to each entry. eg. My cantact list in contacts is Bloggs, Joe; Smith, John and Doe, Jane. I have three antrie in my contacts list. Each entry has up to three email addresses. Outlook files all three address under one name. In the contacs folder this is no problem, because all the addresses are displayed under the name, however in the dialogue box that opens within a message, only the names are displayed, and they are displayed in duplicate or triplicate if there is more than one address for the name. So, I will see for instance: Bloggs, Joe Bloggs, Joe Doe, Jane Smith, John Smith, John Smith, John in the list with no indication of which is which. Your method would mean making different contact entries for each address. This would be a pain when updating other details like ph no.s etc as I would have to do it for each entry. G P |

| 51960 | 2002-06-02 10:12:00 | As no other replies have arrived: Is this Outlook 2000? My email comes up as Joe Bloggs (email) in the To field of the message and Joe Bloggs (email2) and Joe Bloggs (email3) for three seperate email addresses for one contact. When I look at the contacts - I can see there email address beside there display name as you described as well as (email), (email2), (email3). So if I want to send to an address - I click on To - look at display name and email address. Select 'Joe Bloggs(email2) - Joe@xtra.co.nz' and OK - The To field now shows up as Joe Bloggs (email2)in my message If I an not sure who it is for - I can right click on Joe Bloggs (email2) and select properties - because I know it is going to email 2 - I can see this in the contact field for email2 I don't think it is possible to have outlook changed to display the email address as the display name. |
