| 51980 | 2002-06-01 14:28:00 | I have this annoying thing where on start up (Windows 98SE), a folder, Programs, opens , and i cant find from where its opening. I've deleted it several times, but obviously its crated on start up because it doesnt exist and is made on c:, i thought because maybe a start up file which is in Program Files incorrectly points to Programs instead?, anyways, Ive checked every where, including the relevant registry keys, msconfig?startup tab, and the C:\windows\all users\start up blah blah folder, etc, and cant find any indication. any help here... | Guest (0) | ||
| 51981 | 2002-06-01 14:42:00 | What is it called? It is either a trojan which is created on start-up by a line in autoexec.bat, or it is spyware such as lop.com For the first, update your virus defs and do a full virus scan. Also look for strange entries in autoexec.bat Look for things like server.exe or troj.exe or tron.exe or mantice.exe or bo.exe or bo2k.exe or netbus.exe etc. For the second possibility, download adawrae from www.lavasoft.de and run on your PC. If you have kazaa or other software which contains spyware, do not remove that specific spyware unless you don't want the app to work. G P |
