| 52272 | 2002-06-03 12:12:00 | i leave my computer on for downloading for around 240 hours per mouth is this going to damage in thing will it over heat , well i had no over heat warnings yet but any other problem which can cuaz damages i have asus motherboard running win2000pro |

| 52273 | 2002-06-03 12:33:00 | no it won't overheat. the odds are you will proberly get kicked of the net at least once. a reboot every now and then wouldn't hurt either. also if you have jetsteam/cable you may runn out of hardrive space first;-) if you plan to leave it on for long period if time unattended a UPS would be a good idea. |

| 52274 | 2002-06-03 22:36:00 | Mine is on 24/7 it's an old PC, and i am file sharing, and running a web server on cable. I have no special cooling, just a standard cpu fan, and the PS fan People trying to use the webserver as a proxy is a problem, running out of HD space is a problem, over heating???? No worrys! You should be fine too. I do turn the monitor off at the switch when i leave the office as Win98SE power management and my combination of hardware don't get on too well. |
