52253	2002-06-03 10:17:00	Hi people, Another wee prob, about a week ago, I was deleting some duplicate files, (I thought I was so smart)but little did this old boy know that he was was heading for trouble,(big time). Anyway I used a program called 'jv16' and done the auto bit of cleaning up registy and other files. And thought it would be good to go a little further. The files were backed up, and the probs started the computer restarted only in safe mode, restored some monitor files, and any other files that were relavant that the computer said was wrong. In the end enough was enough, restore all files that were deleted. Ok problem solved, boy was I wrong, probs only started, the computer wounld'nt start windows at all. Tried starting with the boot/system disk, **** I had no chance, put the CD Recovery disk in the drive, crap again. Boot/system disk and Recocery CD together seemed to work. By chance I stumbled around in DOS, and found something that I though would help and it did, the computer was trying to start from a floppy (that wasn't there) so changed the order of things and the computer started into windows, and hasn't looked back. But things had got a wee bit scrambled (a bit like eggs (LOL). Only one thing Word 2000 musthave got a bit scrambled as well, because I have only a few fonts and the drive starts every couple of minutes for 20-25 seconds. Got peeed off with MS Word 2000 (and MS in General), and found the PC World April CD and installed 602pro PC SUITE 2001. It's ok and will learn to use it like MS. But was wondering, 'Fonts' are they on MS Word or are they on the Windows ME system. Because I have an important document that had been written in a certain Font and now after windows ME being recovered and MS Word 2000 unistalled and reinstalled I've lost that Font, things are hotting up a bit. Pleaseeeee some help......... I like this new word proccessor so far its going to take time but MS is out of the picture now. cheers merlin-nz ;-}	Guest (0)
52254	2002-06-04 00:39:00	All fonts are kept in C:\Windows\Fonts (if you can't find it, try searching for 'Arial'). All of these fonts are loaded when Windows starts, for use by applications. So if you ever need to add or back any up, that's the directory to go. If you can remember the name of the font, try looking for it on the net and adding it to the Fonts folder. You may need to apply this font to your old document again though. Hope that helps a bit!	Guest (0)
