52233 2002-06-03 08:46:00 Hi! i'm new to this so here goes.
whe just had a major clean up of our computer, and on doing so lost some of our drivers, one in pictular our usb ports. how do i find them again.It's showing that we have none and we have.
The computer people also updated our windows 98 programe with W98 second edition. Do we need the cd for this programe at all.

52234 2002-06-03 10:50:00 yes you do need the cd(assuming you upgraded from 98first edition to 98se) after all you did just buy it.

you need to work out what motherboard you have or usb if its not onboard usb and download the drivers off the manafactures site.

Yes you most likely will need the win98se cdrom. If at some time in the future you want to install a windows facility you currently don't have it will ask you to load the cd so make sure you keep it safe.

What makes you think you've lost your usb ports? If you have only a printer connected to USB then hardware manager in Control Panel/System will not show anything connected but it should be showing a device called Universal Serial Bus Controller.
