| 52178 | 2002-06-03 01:22:00 | When my PC boots up I am presented with a red box displaying the following: 'NAV Auto-Protec Unable to inialize the Virus scanning engine database file' If I click OK the desktop loads but the Norton Icon at the bottom of the screen has a red cross through it and I can not get rid of the cross I have updated Norton Antivirus and re installed the program (I did not first delete the program in order to keep the definitions) Can anyone please suggest what is wrong. |

You must also make sure you delete it all. nothing left either by its uninstaller or an uninstaller of your choice. Then reinstall and live update your definitions again. I hope this helps .
