| 52360 | 2002-06-04 06:18:00 | i have been asked to do a repair on a win 2000 machine where the admistrater has gone AWAL, we are prepared to rebuild the system from sratch, but need to get data out. Upon putting an 80gig drive on the system for the purpose of backing the needed data, we find ourselves locked out. Am considering building system on the 80, and getting data over that way, but this seems long winded..... Any ideas??? |

I've allready rebuilt the first machine, thrown the data we needed to keep on the second, and moved it back. It's been a learning experiance, the rest of the network saw machine 1, and was happy to move the data back into it's shared folder in the morning, but refused to see the shared resources on that machine in the afternoon, even though machine 1 was happy to pick up or send email most of the arvo via the same network that seemed to be snubbing it.. I gave up in fear that my head would explode, but am going back tommorow to make the machines happy with eachother. |
