| 52311 | 2002-06-04 01:08:00 | I can remember seeing either a shareware or freeware programme once that sent a self generated email back to the senders address upon the email being opened at the recievers address. I cant remember but I think it was called an email confirmer. I've searched but cant seem to find anything. Can anyone help me here... Nicola (Silky Knickers). |

If you are using Microsoft Outlook Express 6 you can turn on Receipts by clicking on the 'Create Mail' button, then in the new mail windows click on the 'Tools' menu, and then tick 'Request Read Receipt'. If you want to turn on receipts for all your mail, in the main Outlook Express windows click on the 'Tools' menu, then 'Options', then the 'Receipts' tab, then tick 'Request a read receipt for all sent messages'. | Guest (0)

It will tell the recipient that you have requested one and they choose whether or not to send that confirmation back which is little help really. Infact it may appear rude to some people. | Guest (0)

| 52317 | 2002-06-04 19:20:00 | There is a free limited service called Confirm To. When you type in the email address you would add the following as seen below. Example - silyknickers@xtra.co.nz.confirm.to By adding the confirm to to the email address as soon as there receiver opens the message a stealth reply is sent to you. A additional reply as sent with each opening of that message. It is a free service upto I think 15 messages per month, then you need to pay for it. Below is a copy and paste of a receipt, edited for F1 Receipt Reader: ********@xtra.co.nz When: Tue, 04 Jun 2002 17.47.09 Where: IP Address: ???.***** Detailed Position : [Position] PC Name: [Further Tracking History] Noticee: *********** E-Mail Serial ID: postel2:1023180967-5f8b238bc60bf684bae36720208b5397.528adc22baf379a0 From: ************ To: **************** Date: Tue, 04 Jun 2002 17.47.09 Subject: test confirm Details: [View Detailed Info on Credits/Options/Status] |
