52606 2002-06-05 08:13:00 Recently I had to reload Windows ME (again ...!) Everything is OK again now, but I have the annoying 'My Network Places' icon back on my desktop and I can't seem to get rid of it.
Does anyone know how to delete this pesky little icon? I am not connected to any network.

Any help would be appreciated.

I believe the TWEAKUI (tweak User Interface) utility allows the turning off of various desktop icons etc. Copies of the utility are usually on the PC World Cover CD's

Although I run XP this should work on ME I would think.. Right click on the desktop, click on desktop, then customize desktop (it should be near the bottom) and follow from there.
Hopefully this will work. Good luck.
