52483 2002-06-05 00:57:00 I have an email requiring zls file to open.
What do I do or where can I find this?

52484 2002-06-05 01:10:00 Are you running ZoneAlarm?

ZoneAlarm will quarantine any email attachments that look like they might be harmful scripts.

You are probably receiving a .SHS file that ZA then renames to .ZLS

If you must open these attachments turn off the MailSafe option in ZA.

Hope this helps.

52485 2002-06-05 01:21:00 Are you running Zone Alarm at all. If so, there is a function in there under Security that if enabled locks up various files to prevent them from running.

If you know what the contents of the file is because you are expecting it, you could double click it, ZA will allow you to open it but will pop up various warnings along the way.

If the file is unexpected or you don't have ZoneAlarm, ask the sender what the file is and which program they used.

52486 2002-06-05 03:18:00 You could also try opening the file with a text editor (eg Notepad). If it is a text file you should be able to read it and if it isn't you probably won't. If it is some sort of executable nasty it won't work because a text editor doesn't grant execution rights. Guest (0)
