| 52520 | 2002-06-05 04:20:00 | Hi yah people, A wee (Big) Prob, last week my HP Pavilion computer runing windows ME threw a mental and had to do a partial recovery. But after that I lost a few drivers and word 2000 went mental as well. Lost a few fonts but can download them. The main prob seems to be the driver for the CD Writer, (HP CD Writer 8200 series) I have all the appropriate floppies and CDs, but when I try to reinstall the drivers, I get a message 'Invaild command line parameter'. When I tried to uninstall the software message 'Check the application you want to uninstall. Clear the applications you want to keep. Finish'. If anyone can help HP Help online is ruddy useless, like trying to draw teeth. cheers merlin-nz :-}} |

Sounds as though you have lost significant files, and from previous posts I wont ask how... Seriously, can you back up your critical files that you need to disk, since the writer is NBG, and recover? What about system restore in ME, dont know how much is (re)stored but worth a crack. Please save your data first... TW |

Or is it that ME isn't detecting the drive correctly, but it still works? If so, are you trying to reinstall the drivers but the floppy disk install doesn't work? Let us know. |
