2002-06-05 21:53:00 | The worst thing you can do is reply to spam email, this only confirms your email address is valid and you will end up getting more. Just ignore and delete it and if it is a concern consider setting up a mail rule in your email client. Spam email is difficult to stop and we all have this problem but if you are careful where you leave your email address it can be kept under reasonable control.

2002-06-05 22:27:00 | You don't want to reply in any way, it just confirms for a start that you have read there message and confirms your email address which will result in you winning even more free cars, free money and free trips........ If you are using Outlook Express you can set up rules, one of them is Delete from Server. Highlight the offending message, Click on Message - Create Rule From Message - that will open a box with three windows, the first window is ticked by default Where The Sender Is - go to the second window and tick Delete from Server - now the fun begins, in the third window is the senders address. If the address is yahoo, xtra, mailcity, or any other common web based mail, then just Ok the rule. If the address ends in something such as grouplotto.com or adultmail.com, then you can create a additional rule to further block mail from that site even if they change the first part of the address from freecar to freemoney. Place your mouse over the address, single left click the address, that will bring up a extra window, in the ADD line type in the address from and including the @, so for example type in @grouplotto.com and that will block other messages from that site as well. If you were to apply this to addresses for sites ending in yahoo for example, then you would also block all good senders from yahoo as well. Using the header address from your offending message, in the third window the address might be ytempel@netvision.net.il Ok, you would click that address and in the ADD line insert @netvision.net.il Click ok, click ok again to confirm the rule. In addition to that in the future if you use this method of deleting spam you may find some spammers inserting random letters/digits after the @. As a example below ytempel@bm999.netvision.net.il Ok, you click the address and in the ADD line you would now insert @bm999.netvision.net.il and then repeat that step again this time putting in just netvision.net.il This way you are covering multiple bases at a time. Hope that helps you out.

2002-06-06 02:42:00 | Hi Allan, you may want to try the following address: WWW.iso.port.ac.uk/~mike/docs/internet/internet/node66.htm this shows how to read the headers etc. Also if you do a search with google you will get some really good results. Hope this helps. Gary

2002-06-06 08:24:00 | the more correct answer is yes you will get SPAM by confirming your email address. Though people have successfully got degrees by paying for them. You can however buy degrees from NZ universities. You can also pay pple to write your thesis and get a genuine Masters degree! RC

2002-06-07 06:20:00 | Go to http://www.mailwasher.net/ and download MailWasher. Very very good program and FREE. You can set it to bounce back unwanted spam so that your address looks like it doesn't exist to the sender and they will soon remove you from their list. | Guest (0) | |
